Minimal staffing and still capture stunning images? That's easy with the remote controlled Canon CR-N500 PTZ camera. It is therefore logical that this professional camera is not only used for Visual Radio but also for events, meetings, documentaries, etc. The CR-N500 is designed to fit perfectly in a multi-camera setting. The color depth and visual appearance are matched to the professional sensor and features, making retrofitting and color correction easy. Accordingly, the CR-N500 has many features of a high-resolution Canon camera or camcorder, such as a 1" dual-pixel CMOS sensor, the Canon DIG!C DV6 image processor, scene modes, face-tracking, 15x zoom, 20x digital zoom, dual XLR / 3.5mm microphone input and video recording up to UHD 4K. Furthermore, the camera has NDI|HX support without the need to purchase a separate license for it. Thus, you can incorporate the CR-N500 into your existing NDI network with minimal configuration. Other professional camera features of the N500 include genlock support, Canon Log 3 support and built-in ND filters with clear, 1/4, 1/16 and 1/64 options.
Where the PTZ camera differs from Canon camcorders are the remote control options, such as control via IP, RS-422 serial, IR or Wi-Fi and HDMI or 3G-SDI video output. The camera can perform smooth, precise pan, tilt and zoom movements with a speed range of 0.2 to 300° per second. Micro-level audio can be input via dual XLR inputs or a 3.5mm mini-jack and then embedded into the HDMI and 3G-SDI outputs, into your NDI|HX stream or into RTP/RTMP/RTSP stream output. The camera can also be powered by PoE+ (Power-over-Ethernet) through the LAN port, so it fits directly into your existing PoE+ network without the need for local power to save cabling. The camera supports a wide dynamic range, a minimum brightness of 1.5 lux and the lens has a 35mm equivalent focal length from 25.5 to 382.5 mm. The camera can use an external controller via RS-422 or Canon's own XC IP protocol on a secure private LAN with the optional RC-IP100 PTZ controller. If you prefer to use Canon's camera control software, the free downloadable application can work under Windows OS, allowing you to control all camera functions from a laptop or tablet. The software provides a 9x9 live view, control of up to 100 cameras, loading and configuration of settings and overview functions.
