When transmitters are close together or multiple transmitters are used in the same location, new frequencies can be formed, called "intermodulation." Because these frequencies must be strongly suppressed, a cavity filter should be placed after each output of the transmitter or output stage. If the frequencies of the FM stations are closer together than 2 MHz then a triple cavity filter is required. The cavity filter must be calculated for the power of the transmitter or output stage. This Delta Meccanica 2kW Band Pass FM Filter triple cavity with 7/16 output connector prevents intermodulation in transmitters with power up to 2kW.
