When transmitters are close together or multiple transmitters are used in the same location, new frequencies can form, called "intermodulation." Because these frequencies must be strongly suppressed, a cavity filter should be placed after each output of the transmitter or output stage. If the frequencies of the FM stations are closer together than 2 MHz then a triple cavity filter is required. The cavity filter must be calculated for the power of the transmitter or output stage. With this Delta Meccanica 1.2 kW Band Pass FM Filter tripple cavity FM with 7/8" output connector, intermodulation is prevented for transmitters with power up to 1,200 watts.
