The Sogeti Super Opkikkerdag: a special Saturday full of surprises and fun
The Sogeti Super Opkikkerdag brings a lot of fun surprises and there was a need for a radio DJ set, then we from Broadcast Partners were only too happy to participate. Read below the story about the most memorable moments of the day and future plans for this inspiring initiative, partly through the eyes of Sogeti colleagues!
Here’s in brief what the Sogeti Super Opkikkerdag entails
Sogeti has been a regular partner of Stichting Opkikker for over ten years. Not only do they support financially, the staff also come to help during the day itself. With eighty colleagues, Sogeti cares all Saturday for 56 families with a seriously ill family member (often a child). They enjoy wonderful surprises, such as catching villains with the police, putting out fires with the fire department, driving around in fantastic sports cars and limousines, being a princess or prince, a beauty treatment, making masks, being a DJ, making a radio broadcast or learning magic themselves! And finally the now famous Sogeti farewell party! The goal is to spend a day forgetting that you are sick or your family member is sick, a day relaxing and being taken care of.
What strikes you as you look at your first Sogeti Super Opkikkerdag?
It’s a no-brainer that this is a fantastic day, first and foremost for these families. But what struck me extra was the huge smiles with which Sogetists walked around and the energy they put into making this day a success. That to me is the icing on the cake! And then when I hear that Opkikker volunteers want to be at the Sogeti Super Opkikkerdag especially because of that energy, that’s the biggest compliment you can get on a day like this.

Besides all the big concepts, such as the presence of the police and fire departments, we also see smaller concepts where children can participate. Can you talk a little more about this?
Certainly, in addition to the many Sogetists who provide a family with a fantastic day as a family facilitator, there are also several Sogetists who use their own creativity or technical knowledge for special activities that only come along on the Sogeti Super Opkikkerdag.
For example, Melvin Brandjes and his brother Robin provided a magic show for the families and Drazen Jankovic used his 3D printer to make beautiful masks for the children to decorate.
We sponsored equipment that allowed a family to make their own radio. What makes our cooperation in this so important?
The technology behind making radio is very special. Last year, for example, I had 2 girls of 12 who love to vlog, but as a result also absolutely loved making radio. You grant such families the same experience as we were able to give them this year. This year, among other things, we had a family who had taken the DJ workshop beforehand, so they were able to go completely wild in radio making after this. They found this immensely interesting and had a great time with us in the studio.

How do you see the future of the collaboration between Broadcast Partners and the Opkikker days?
When you carry a professional set like this one from Broadcast Partners, it exudes professionalism and makes kids feel like they are in a real radio studio. That only makes the experience better and they go home with a big smile! We hope to do more great things with this in the future for Stichting Opkikker together with Broadcast Partners. How about a real studio experience with a radio DJ also there to ask the questions? Or a live radio show where family members of the Opkikker family can listen in live. As far as we are concerned, this was a successful day and we hope for more great Revival moments in the future!
