Rural commercial DAB+ multiplex 11A in Flanders makes transition to Broadcast Partners
Rural commercial DAB+ multiplex 11A in Flanders makes transition to Broadcast Partners
Early this morning, just after midnight, Broadcast Partners officially took over the operation of the commercial rural multiplex 11A in Flanders from Norkring. The past few months have been spent building a completely new transmitter park with a total of 23 new set-up points spread across Flanders and Brussels. For the public, little changes. The stations that could be received via the 11A network remain available. As of today, the 14 programs broadcast using this network can be received in cars almost everywhere in Flanders (see image below).
Despite radio signals being broadcast by other stations, it is expected that the listener will notice little of the change in station operator. Depending on the make and type of receiver, it may be necessary to have the receiver researched. If you experience reception problems, check https://www.broadcastpartners.nl/meldpunt-zendbereik/.
Retrospective
In late 2023, the bidding process was launched by the Flemish Media Regulator (VRM) after which several bids were evaluated based on a beauty contest. VRM designated Broadcast Partners as the implementing party after reviewing the submitted files.
