Broadcast Partners is proud to contribute to one of the most iconic lighting installations in the Netherlands: the largest Christmas tree in IJsselstein. By combining our expertise in broadcast technology with innovative solutions, we support this impressive project so that it comes to life safely and efficiently every year.

A unique collaboration

Since its first realization in 1992, the Christmas tree has developed into a true spectacle that attracts visitors from all over the country every year. The 366-meter mast in IJsselstein, which also serves as an important radio mast, is transformed into a gigantic light installation. This requires a precise balance between functionality and appearance. This is where Broadcast Partners plays an important role: we ensure that the radio signal remains undisturbed and work can be done safely, while the lighting shines without any problems.

The technical challenges

The combination of an operational broadcast tower and a large-scale lighting installation brings unique technical requirements. Some of the challenges we contribute to are:

1. Compatibility with mast
   Lighting and suspension structures are carefully tuned to avoid radio signal interference. Our cooperation with mast operators and the Christmas Tree Foundation ensures seamless integration of both functions.
   
2. Working safely at height
   Hanging lights at extreme heights requires extra attention to technician safety. Consider safe work zones near the transmitting antenna systems. Careful work instructions and radio wave measurements contribute to a safe procedure.
   
3. Sustainability and Innovation
   Energy-efficient LED lamps have been introduced since 2014, making the installation less maintenance-intensive and contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of the project.

More than a lighting installation

The largest Christmas tree is not only a technical feat, but also a symbol of innovation and togetherness. During the dark days, it brings light and warmth to IJsselstein and beyond. Photos and videos of the Christmas tree are shared en masse and inspire a wide audience.
