Change in radiowaves in an extreme atmospheric environment
Throughout the Netherlands, it is possible that radio stations are difficult or impossible to receive in certain areas due to atmospheric conditions. The complaints mainly occur on the edges of transmitting areas of radio stations in the ether. Due to the extreme weather of recent times, radio waves behave differently than normal at the moment. As a result, the signals from radio transmitters carry much farther than normal, which can cause other transmitters to disturb. It is not known how long this situation will remain. The atmospheric conditions also ensure that Dutch radio stations can suddenly be received abroad.
