Can you tell us a bit more about Studio Alphen?

Studio Alphen is the local public broadcaster of the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn. Through our channels on television, radio and internet we keep the residents of the municipality informed of the latest news and cover topics such as local politics, sports and events.

What are the highlights of Studio Alphen for you?

Besides the fact that we publish news articles and reports on a daily basis, Studio Alphen broadcasts a number of live shows every year. The carnival in Boskoop, the Trekkertrek Family Day in Koudekerk aan den Rijn and the annual Commemoration of the Dead in Alphen aan den Rijn. These are projects that are supported by many hands and where the entire team is committed to get the most out of our capabilities.

What are your plans (if any) for the future?

We recently moved to our new home in Theater Castellum. This space suits the professional set-up of the broadcaster. From this new situation we want to continue to build on the supply of content and the role of the broadcaster in the local community.

How did you end up at Broadcast Partners? And what have you recently renovated about your studio?

In the run-up to the move, we went looking for a new studio furniture with an audio table and microphones. We approached Bart van der Velden, our contact person at Broadcast Partners, and together we arrived at the current setup. Because of the experience in building (television) studios with my employer, we did the construction and configuration of the studio with a number of people under our own management. This is also useful later on in case of malfunctions, because then we know what's going on.

Why did you choose the digital Axum mixing console?

Partly due to the flexibility of the mixer and the extensive possibilities where each button can be programmed as desired. So now there are two radio studios and a speech booth, built around a D&R Axum mainframe, which allows sources in both studios to be used. Furthermore, the new Axum Dante card ensures that the Axum can also be linked to a Dante network and can receive many channels from this network, including those of our radio automation. An extremely flexible setup!
